In a visual archaeology that constructs itself through the scarring of the reappropriated image, Maltchique (1979, Pouso Alegre, MG) investigates the chronic ruptures caused by algorithms in the social fabric, which manifest in the flaws inherent to the image transfer process. From this operation emerges a kind of pictorial hallucination, where the image comes to embody itself — remixed, regurgitated, imprinted, or painted onto the support — in sculptural corporification, material complexity, and images charged with symbolism. Thus, the artist creates an algorithmic topography populated by undefined figures, partially recognizable forms, and phantasmagoric bodies, in superpositions of multiple temporalities. The result is the amalgam of a sedimented memory between the flesh and the synthetic that challenges perception and redirects the gaze, evidencing the magical nature and the character of incessant mutation of the image. Between the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional, the artist seeks to articulate a hybrid production between painting and sculpture, involving manual, mechanized, or artificial intelligence-assisted execution.

Em uma arqueologia visual que se constrói no esgarçamento da imagem reapropriada, Maltchique (1979, Pouso Alegre, MG) investiga as rupturas crônicas causadas pelos algoritmos no tecido social, que se manifestam nas falhas inerentes ao processo de transferência da imagem. Desta operação emerge uma espécie de alucinação pictórica, onde a imagem passa a encarnar — remixada, regurgitada, impressa ou pintada sobre o suporte — na corporificação escultórica, na complexidade material e nas imagens carregadas de simbolismo. Deste modo, o artista cria uma topografia algorítmica povoada por figuras indefinidas, formas parcialmente reconhecíveis e corpos fantasmagóricos, em sobreposições de múltiplas temporalidades. O resultado é o amálgama de uma memória sedimentada entre a carne e o sintético que desafia a percepção e redireciona o olhar, evidenciando a natureza mágica e o caráter de incessante mutação da imagem. Entre o bidimensional e o tridimensional, o artista busca articular uma produção híbrida entre a pintura e a escultura, com execuções manuais, mecanizadas ou assistidas por inteligência artificial.
